Eenie meenie miney mo
Some of you may know that I've been unemployed for the past six months or so. Since then, I've applied to a wide array of companies and organizations, and I've gone for interviews for almost every single position I applied for, which is a good thing. The bad thing is, I've had a 0% success rate. But, no big deal, I just trudged along doing my thing. I volunteered at the EFF, I got an internship at CHOW (which seems to have grinded to a standstill -- haven't heard from them in almost two weeks), and busied myself by doing things like knitting, cooking, and going out to meet other bloggers.
Well, things have changed somewhat in the past few weeks. Here's the scoop: I went for an interview for a full-time paid internship position at a very well-known tech publication about a month ago. It went pretty well, and I believe I managed to show them my tech-geek chops. Getting this internship would be very beneficial to my career, since it's in-line with my education and background, and suits my interests quite well. However, it is only an internship, and it'll end after 6 months. That said, I did get a call back from them a few days ago, and they said that I managed to pass the first interview and am on to the second round of interviewing. The second interview will take place this Thursday.
Fast-forward to last Friday. I went for an interview for a part-time administrative assistant position at a local non-profit organization. That interview went very well, and ended on a positive high-note. In fact, they like me so much, they called me in again on Monday, and quite clearly said that if I were to say Yes to the position right now, I am 100% assured of getting it. However, this job is only part-time, and it's not quite in-line with my career goals. That said, I love the organization, and I like the people. This job has no end date, and has the possibility of lasting beyond 6 months.
Pay-wise, the internship actually pays more, because it's a full-time gig. On the other hand, if I work part-time at the non-profit, I can use the extra time at another part-time gig, and get more pay that way.
So you can see I'm in limbo right now. Everything hinges on that second interview at the tech publication, and whether or not they can give me a definite answer by next week. Because if they don't, I'm not sure if I can let the non-profit gig pass up.
I'm sure I'm worrying for nothing. At least I have two choices instead of none. And by the sounds of it, I'll probably have a job no matter what happens. I just feel a little uneasy at the uncertainty of it all. But hey, at least my unemployment is about to end soon... I hope.

A quick prayer for Nicole:
God if it's your will, please let Nicole get the job she desires. She's worked very hard and is quite capable of doing whatever is asked of her. She really needs you right now lord. Please help her decide which route to take. I ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
